Seven years ago, after repeated arguments with the Ministry of the Interior on the necessity of establishing an alternative medicine society, our "Acupressure and Cupping Association " was finally successfully established and became the first traditional Chinese medicine association in the country. Now, as we are about to hand over the chairmanship of the association to the third president, it is an opportune time to review the development track of the association along the way.
In the first two years, we held many Chinese and foreign alternative medicine seminars to present our research direction and share our results, and we look forward to exchanges and cooperation with various academic groups. Unfortunately, we were immediately hit by a several-year ban due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and seminars and meetings could only be conducted via remote video conferencing, which was not only ineffective, but video conferencing was also not suitable for the observation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical diseases. Therefore, our activities can only be carried out on a small scale, including: training to enhance personal Qi energy, research on clinical treatment techniques and benefits, and its function in preventive health care. In other words, the Association's main activities were focused on the research of the clinical application, technology and benefits of acupressure and cupping therapy, and the Association stopped its external expansion.
Traditional Chinese medicine is a personalized medicine that provides a “one prescription to one person” approach to holistic health care. Therefore, the purpose of the Association is to combine modern medical knowledge with the efficacy of acupressure and cupping to study various common clinical symptoms, diseases and signs of human body changes.
We use "acupoint reaction pain" and "aura sensing” to detect the pathological changes and original causes of the body's organs and tissues, and use acupressure and cupping techniques to eliminate symptoms and treat diseases. For example, a patient who suffers from long-term recurring paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) has to go to the hospital emergency room several times a week to get relief. The patient refused to undergo orthodox electrocautery of the abnormal conduction pathway of PSVT because it would still regenerate after electrocautery. Through the detection and treatment of "acupoint reaction pain" and "aura sensing", we found that the ribs on both sides of his chest had suffered impact injuries, and the left rectus abdominis had been severely strained. The two injuries were located above the ventricles, thus causing frequent PSVT. Even if the abnormal conduction pathway was removed by electrocautery, it would only suspend the suppression, and it was inevitable that PSVT would occur again. After we cured the patient's Pericardium Meridian, rib impact injury and rectus abdominis strain several times, the patient finally no longer suffered from PSVT. This is our research method and results.
Using this method, we have successfully researched and cured countless chronic diseases, sorted out many new syndromes and their treatment methods and many of their original causes. We have also published all our research and treatment results in the Association's journal "New Medicine Journal".
The biannual "New Medical Journal" is mainly published on several websites of the Association. A total of 11 issues have been published so far, including: special reports on treatment results, special systematic reviews of traditional Chinese medicine, methods of Qigong preventive health care, case demonstrations of cupping, analysis and application of marks after cupping, a column on women's diseases, a column on Qigong for self-cultivation, health preservation and preventive health care, bits and pieces of life, and answers to readers' questions and inquiries. The Association's journals are also included in the collection of the National Library to facilitate sharing with the interested public. More than a year ago, we decided to suspend the publication of the journal in order to free up manpower to review the Association’s past activities and give a comprehensive evaluation as a basis for progress and development in the coming year.
The Association’s past clinical research results, medical benefits, and necessary conditions for its success are briefly described below:
1. We invented the "Instantly Adjustable Attraction Cupping Device" which uses electricity and has obtained patents in several countries. Combined with acupressure therapy, its clinical function of enhancing medical treatment and the interpretation and application of cupping marks have been fully confirmed.
2. With the use of the "Instantly Adjustable Attraction Cupping Device", we have increased the clinical efficacy and application range of acupressure therapy several times, developed many new functions and methods in prevention, health care and medicine, and summarized some diseases that have been neglected by the medical community, such as Ren Meridian Blockage Syndrome, the relationship between temporo-mandibular joint disorder and headaches, the relationship between hair dye poisoning and headaches, crotch injury syndrome, high heels syndrome, Qigong to relieve visceral pain, and so on.
3. The harm of the new coronavirus to the human body has been discovered - it blocks the human body's "Automatic energy-generating functional system ", thus leading to the diverse and complex "Triple Burner and Pericardium Meridian Interruption Syndrome". Due to the varying degrees of blockage caused by the virus, just like many electrical appliances in the home stop working due to a power outage, the physiological functions of human organs and tissues lose power due to lack of oxygen, resulting in heart and lung weakness, difficulty breathing, physical weakness, mental dullness, etc., and only relying on life-saving mechanisms to maintain life. If the human body's "Automatic energy-generating functional system" is not restarted in time, it will eventually develop " Long COVID-19 syndrome " and gradually lose vitality.
After all, humans will eventually have to coexist with the new coronavirus, and the effective treatment method is to eliminate its harm to the human body and restore the physiological functions of blocked organs and tissues. Because we understand how the virus blocks the power system, we also know how to restart it and treat the symptoms of various interruption syndromes, and we have cured countless patients who came to us for help. Relevant information and treatment techniques are also fully disclosed in our journals.
4. The learning content of our clinical cases includes: the consistent process of observation, analysis, diagnosis, and treatment of various patients and symptoms, as well as the theoretical basis for determining each step and the method of finding the root cause. This is a scientific and responsible approach we adhere to. We also publish our research results in our New Medical Journal, making it available to the public free of charge.
5. We have trained many outstanding students to become experienced and capable independent therapists, who are scattered across the country to carry out research and service work, as the foundation for mutual exchange, learning and inheritance.
6. The most important factor for successful treatment is that the therapist must have sufficient and high-level Qi power, as well as the flexibility to correctly output the Qi through the ten fingers to manipulate the acupoints. We have produced four videos introducing our special Qi-breathing exercises and posted them online for students and the public to refer to and learn from at any time.
7. Effective cupping techniques are required to ensure that our acupressure and cupping therapy is effective. These can only be obtained through long-term and continuous experience in qigong practice and clinical operations, combined with extensive medical and life knowledge. This is also the basic requirement we insist on.
8. The healer needs to have a strong will and a spirit of sacrifice to use his or her own energy to help the patient get rid of the disease. This is an absolute prerequisite for the success of our treatment. Therefore, in addition to persisting in practicing qigong and long-term bedside observation and learning, they also need to independently perform treatment methods in order to develop the confidence to be responsible for the results. Therefore, cultivating specialized and capable healers is the most important inheritance and the most difficult task.
9. Now is the Internet age, and remote film and television have replaced paper communication. In addition to the 3 videos that detail the Qi-breathing exercises for the public to learn, in the future, we also look forward to making our acupressure and cupping therapy into a remote service project, and we also look forward to using the latest AI technology to invent advanced and high-performance instruments to make acupressure and cupping therapy more accurate, effective and easy to operate.
10. In terms of the Association’s member recruitment, due to the long-term ban on group gatherings caused by the COVID-19 pandemic at the time, it was almost completely suspended, and the number of founding members was still maintained. Almost all of our members have full-time jobs, and learning acupressure and cupping therapy is a part-time job. It is difficult to expand the Association's business, but inheritance is something we must continue to work hard on.
As a former two-term chairman, I am very grateful to all members for their support and participation over the years, which enabled all research to proceed smoothly and produce the satisfactory results mentioned above. I believe that under the leadership of the new chairman and the new editor-in-chief of the New Medical Journal, we will have a brighter future. However, your continued participation and support remains the most necessary and important driving force. Let us look forward to a wonderful future together.
